As a longtime beauty editor with an unyielding passion for all things fragrance, I couldn’t contain my excitement when I first caught wind of the Barbie Eau de Parfum by DefineMe Creative Studio. As a longtime fragrance lover (I’m talking early tweens!), I’ve been anticipating its release. Over the years, I have covered many (and I mean MANY) celebrity scents and if there ever was a more iconic superstar to launch a fragrance, I think Barbie most definitely fits the bill. Yep, it’s the summer of Barbie and her world officially smells freaking delicious. It’s feminine, it’s flirty, it’s fruity…it’s everything I dreamed it would be.
The epitome of timeless glamour and empowerment, Barbie has always been close to my heart. So, when I heard that DefineMe Creative Studio collaborated with leading global toy company Mattel, and the prestigious fragrance house Givaudan to craft this scent, I knew it was going to be something extraordinary.
Upon experiencing the fragrance, I was immediately transported back to those childhood days when Barbie represented all our dreams and possibilities. The opening notes are a symphony of fruity delights – juicy pomelo, strawberry nectar, red cherry, and dragon fruit, all dancing in perfect harmony. It’s an invitation to embrace playfulness and curiosity – just like Barbie herself.
