Bridgerton

Bridgerton, a popular TV series streamed on Netflix, is set in London during the Regency era. It entails the stories of the eight siblings (Anthony, Benedict, Colin, Daphne, Eloise, Francesca, Gregory, and Hyacinth…and yes if you did catch on, they are named in order of the Alphabet that coincides with their age order) of a noble and powerful family aka the Bridgerton’s who are navigating London’s high society marriage market while being surrounded with friends, enemies, love, and scandals.

Each season tends to focus on one of the siblings love journey while also having side scenes capturing the lives of the others. The costumes are nothing short of spectacular. The attention to detail surrounding the beading and appliques is thought out and made to bring out each actress natural beauty. A theme I have noticed surrounding the Bridgerton aesthetic are pastels and florals. I was looking through KISS and imPRESS nails website and found some sets I thought embodied the Bridgerton theme perfectly. Keep reading to learn more.

1: Beaded Beautifully

One of the first trends I picked up on with the dress costumes, specifically in season one, was the detailed and delicate beading. I have found beading adds the sparkle effect to an outfit without necessarily the flashy aspect that’s cute for New Years Eve or a fun night out but maybe not what comes to mind when you think of the Regency era. I thought these nails were perfect to encapsulate the dainty beading effect I was going for.

2: Graceful Garden

Pastel flowers, butterflies, and gardens galore are a staple (and my personal favorite) aesthetic in the Bridgerton series! I have found there to be many important scenes that take place in a garden setting throughout the duration of the show. It offers the illusion of privacy with walls of florals acting as a barricade to the outside world while also providing a calmness where the characters feel as ease to express their inner thoughts to one another. It also gives off the feminine and spring-like coquette touch we fantasize about.

Joyful Jewel Tones

Ruby red, sapphire blue, amethyst purple… The deep and rich colors you may associate with royalty, I found to be sprinkled in the costumes of Bridgerton Season 2 with the arrival of the Sharma sisters (Kate and Edwina). In the show the two sisters and their mother travel from India to the U.K. with the hopes of finding love and marriage. Throughout the season we get to see their South Asian heritage entwined into scenes displaying traditional Hindu language, cultural practices (such as the use of hair oils when washing hair) and fun and bright jewel toned gowns!
