From the latest craze over full-cover gel nails to negative space and 3D crystal nail art, you can skip the salon and achieve professional looking results right from the comfort of your own casa.How are we so sure? Celebrity nail stylist Gina Edwards gave us all the glossy details on five top manicure trends of the season, plus some expert tips and tricks on how to nail the look at home. Read on for a fresh set of nail inspiration.
1. Full Cover Gel Nails

How to Apply
- Apply KISS Acrylic Primer to the growth area of natural nail only. Do not get on skin or cuticles. Let dry.
- Place a small bead of acrylic mixture onto growth area where the natural nail meets the overlay. Allow to level then pull down to blend with the entire nail surface and pat down until smooth.
- Allow acrylic to harden for three to five minutes. Tap the nail surface with a manicure stick. A sharp “clicking” sound means the overlay is dry.
- File entire nail surface to smooth and even overlay surface.
- Use fine side of file or a KISS White Buff Block to smooth and finish.
- Apply clear polish for a glossy finish.
How to Remove
Do not force, pry or pull nails off. Trim as much length off as possible and soak in an acetone-based polish remover for approximately 20 minutes, continuously wiping nail surface on paper towels until overlay melts off completely.

3. DIY Dip Powder

How to Apply
(HINT: It is helpful to begin with dominant hand.)
1. Pour Color Dip Powder into Dip Tray using the Manicure Stick.
2. Avoiding skin and cuticle area, apply a coat of Base Gel over the entire surface area of one nail. (Note: Remove any gel on skin with Manicure Stick.)
3. Immediately dip entire fingernail into powder by carefully sliding finger into Dip Tray. Shake off excess powder. REPEAT steps 2-3 on nine other nails.
4. Gently dust off excess powder from all ten nails with Sponge included.
5. One nail at a time, apply a second layer of Base Gel, wiping the brush onto a paper towel in between each application before placing the brush back into the gel bottle, and then dip into Powder. Shake off excess powder.
6. Avoiding skin, apply a generous amount of Activator to all ten nails.
7. File to shape and buff smooth. Gently remove dust with Sponge.
8. Avoiding skin, re-apply the Activator to all ten nails.
9. Remove excess Activator by wiping nail surface with a dry paper towel (lint free.)
10. Apply two even layers of Top Gel as you would top coat and let air dry for 5-10 minutes. Pour any remaining powder back into jar for future use

4. Negative Space with Chrome and Silver Accents
“The next trend we are seeing is negative space with chrome and silver accent. This can be achieved by using the KISS Clear Gel, curing, and adding your favorite craft glitter to certain spots on the nail but leaving a lot of the nail exposed for that negative space look.
